Queensland Power Bills to Stabilise

The Queensland Government has issued advice that household Queensland power bills will stabilise after the big increases of recent years.

The Australian Energy Regulator’s (AER) final ruling on network costs for Energex and Ergon has produced a determination that Energex can charge households and business $6.6 billion and Ergon Energy $6.3 billion between 2015 and 2020.

The Queensland Council of Social Service has indicated that the typical residential power bill in Queensland would fall by around $17 in 2016-17, with a similar reduction in the following three years.
